There is more than one way to diagnose the hara. So, what are the features that distinguish the Zen Shiatsu method from the classical?

For one thing, there can be 14-18 locations on the abdomen, depending on your method of palpation. Other characteristics include the difference between Kyo/Jitsu and Excess/Deficient, as well as the emphasis on strengthening antipathogenic ki rather than addressing symptoms directly.

But in my opinion, the best thing about this system is the ever-increasing sensitivity of hands and heart that is built into it.

She studied directly with Dr. Shizuto Masunaga (creator of Zen Shiatsu) for over a period of 3 years.
