On-line 100 hour A&P course integrating Western Science and Chinese Medicine. Enroll and proceed at your own pace.

$1000. 10% discount for AOBTA® members.

I developed the on-site course in 2000  for ABT students who needed 100 hours of  A&P for AOBTA(R)  Practitioner Certification. Their feedback about the standard community college and massage school courses that were available to them was that they weren't all that relevant to Asian Bodywork practice.Since I had A&P background in college and massage school, and a life-long interest in the subject, I decided to take the tiger by the tail and create the course with an Asian Bodywork Therapy focus. I get excited by discovering the ways that Western science supports the "theories" of Chinese medicine - and vice versa.

This has been a lot of fun, even though it has also been a lot of work. I spent six months working almost every day to format the first version and I can't even count the hours I've spent expanding and improving it in the last 18 years. In 2014 I converted it to an on-line course so that it would be available to students across the country. There is no comparable course on the internet, or anywhere else that I've found. Schools of Oriental Medicine typically teach their Western A&P separate from Chinese Medicine.  This course integrates them. It is solidly grounded in Western Anatomy and Physiology AND partners that information with the information from Chinese medicine.  At the end, for instance, you will have anatomical landmarks (muscles and bones)  for all 361 acupoints.

The class is 100 hours and, as for any academic course, there is homework.  Assignments take approximately 30 minutes for each hour of class - or another 50 hours. Students who want credit for the class will complete the online homework and complete a short exam for each of the 35 "courses." The homework, which you will scan or photo and email to me includes quizzes for assessing how well you have absorbed the work, so you can repeat them until you pass - and they are open-book.

There are one or two independent projects, which you will scan and email to me. Meditations are used to access the right brain knowledge from the body about key structures and functions. On-line videos coloring the acupoints and meridians on charts of the muscles and bones a 30 minute phone session check-in with me for every two classes Please call if you have any questions, or take a look at the description on my website.

Meets the 100 hour curriculum requirement for AOBTA® Certified Practitioner membership.
