2010 a Rebirth

E-mail Print

The AOBTA® celebrates the 20th anniversary of its official instatement as an organization on February 22, 2010. We have spent our first two decades successfully establishing Asian Bodywork Therapy as a stand-alone profession with its own standards of training and practice. From that foundation we can move forward confidently.

The AOBTA board of directors gathered together over the weekend of January 6-11, 2010 to develop a strategic plan for the organization’s next twenty years. Our mission is to continue to support the personal and professional development of our members, to bring in new membership and to re-ignite the spark of community participation in professionals who love ABT.

We will continue to focus on ABT schools, instructors, students, and practitioners and will expand to include those looking to learn more about the ABT profession. We are especially excited about sharing the power of Eastern philosophical and energetic approaches to health and well being with other professionals whose exposure may have been limited thus far to learning manual techniques from ABT to blend into their practices.

Below are the newly updated Vision and Mission Statements that will guide AOBTA into its next twenty years.

AOBTA® Vision Statement:

To support Eastern philosophical approaches to health and well-being by promoting Asian Bodywork Therapy.

AOBTA® Mission statement:

To provide our members with educational and networking opportunities and to support their personal and professional development and success.
